After Samuel Fosso’s studio and home were attacked in 2014 by looters in war-torn Central African Republic, photo-journalists Jerome Delay and Marcus Bleasdale along with help from Human rights activist Peter Bouckaert risked all to rescue Samuel Fosso’s negatives from destruction and sent them back to him in Paris.
For 7 years, 3 steel trunks containing more than 50,000 negatives remained closed, until the spring of 2021 when photographer/designer Sebastien Girard got access to the work and edited the overlooked treasures.

A celebration of the photographer's  early 1980's studio photographs, this artist’s book tells the story of photographer Samuel Fosso’s fascinating Bangui studio images a few decades before his recognition as a major African artist.
